South Carolina's walk-off upset of No. 11 Tennessee on Saturday ended with more than a field storm. Video posted to social media appears to show Volunteers senior linebacker Jeremiah Telander walk up to a Gamecocks player in the crowd at Williams-Brice Stadium and throw a right hand. The swing did not appear to land.

On3 identified the South Carolina player as freshman defensive back Triston Lewis. In the clip, Lewis throws up his arms, looks around and goes back to celebrating without hitting back. USA Today was less certain about who it was. Its report said the No. 23 jersey belongs to either Lewis or freshman receiver Sequel Patterson. USA Today also reported that a police officer and a Tennessee staff member pulled Telander away right away, and that Tennessee had not answered a request for comment.

Telander may not be the only Volunteer under review. A follow-up report from On3 pointed to a second clip that appears to show senior defensive lineman Daevin Hobbs knocking over a fan in the same crowd. Neither the SEC nor Tennessee had announced any discipline at the time of these reports.

The field storm already comes with a price. As USA Today noted, South Carolina faces a $500,000 fine under the SEC's flat penalty for fans entering the field. Moments like these are a big part of why the rule exists.

The game itself swung several times. South Carolina led 14-0 after one quarter, Tennessee scored 21 straight points to lead at halftime, and the Gamecocks went ahead late. Dylan Stewart forced a strip-sack fumble with 33 seconds left, and Malik Orsan won it with a 48-yard field goal as time ran out.

What it means for the next game

Any punishment for Tennessee would hit a team that just lost its momentum. The 24-27 loss dropped the Volunteers to 6-2 and ended a three-game winning streak that included a 26-10 win over No. 6 Alabama. Both of their losses came by three points, with the other a 17-20 defeat against No. 1 Texas. Tennessee has its bye week next, so any suspension would first apply on November 7 against No. 12 Kentucky.

South Carolina is 4-3 and playing its best football of the season. Three weeks ago the Gamecocks were 2-3 after losing 18-49 at Alabama and 34-35 to Kentucky. Since then they have won 38-19 at No. 16 Florida and beaten Tennessee. Next is a trip to Oklahoma on October 31 on SEC Network, and the board does not expect the streak to last.

Oklahoma is favored on all five venues tracked on the game page. Novig has the Sooners at -239 on the moneyline, the steepest price on the board. DraftKings has the best Oklahoma number at -198, 41 points away from Novig. South Carolina is +186 on Novig. On the spread, the best numbers are Oklahoma -5.5 at FanDuel and South Carolina +6 at Fanatics. The total is 43.5 everywhere. Novig prices the over at -125 and the under at +108, while FanDuel offers the over at -110. That low total stands out next to South Carolina's last two games, which produced 57 and 51 points.
