Georgia linked to Arch Manning after David Pollack relays an SEC coach's prediction
David Pollack says an SEC head coach expects Texas QB Arch Manning to end up at Georgia. No transfer has been announced, and Georgia hosts Florida Saturday.

Georgia has been pulled into the biggest quarterback rumor of the fall. Former Bulldogs star David Pollack said on a Bleacher Report appearance with Takeo Spikes that he does not expect Texas quarterback Arch Manning back in Austin next season. He added that an unnamed SEC head coach told him he would be shocked if Manning did not land at Georgia, according to Easy Sportz.
Pollack attached a condition to the prediction. Sports Illustrated reports he said the move holds "unless this turns around crazy" for Texas, which still has a full slate left in a crowded playoff race. Pollack also said Manning had committed to Georgia during his recruitment. Both outlets point out that this is wrong. Manning visited Athens and Georgia recruited him hard, but he picked Texas in 2022 and never committed to the Bulldogs.
Nothing has been confirmed on either side. Manning has not announced plans to leave Texas, and nobody has reported that Georgia is pursuing him. The claim comes from one unnamed coach, passed along by an analyst. Easy Sportz describes Manning's 2026 season as uneven, with turnovers and inconsistency raising questions about how much he has progressed under Steve Sarkisian. That uneven season explains why the rumor has spread. The recruiting history explains why Georgia's name is the one attached to it.
For Kirby Smart's program, nothing changes before the portal opens in the offseason. What it does bring is attention, and it arrives in a week when Georgia has a more pressing problem than a hypothetical transfer.
What it means for Florida
The Bulldogs are 6-1 and coming off their first loss, a 27-24 defeat to Auburn. Georgia had won 20-17 at No. 6 Alabama the week before. Earlier wins came by wide margins: 70-20 over Western Kentucky, 45-17 at Arkansas, 41-13 over Oklahoma and 38-14 over Vanderbilt. The last two games were much tighter, and both were decided by a field goal. No. 17 Florida comes in Saturday, October 31, on ABC.
The board still makes Georgia a clear favorite. Novig lists the Bulldogs at -388 on the moneyline, which pays $25.77 profit per $100. The best price at any of the 12 venues is Polymarket's -388 at $25.79, so the two are effectively the same. Florida is +376 at Novig. On the spread, Georgia is favored by 11.5 points, priced at -106 on Novig, and Florida +11.5 is at even money. The total sits at 56.5 on Novig, with the over at +102 and the under at -113. BetMGM has the over at 55.5, priced at -108. Hard Rock Bet is the best price on the under at 56.5, at -110. Sportsbook hold runs from 3.6% to 6.2% on the moneyline and up to 7.0% on the spread, so the gap between venues is small.
