Kentucky 21, Oklahoma 13: Four Oklahoma turnovers, none from Kentucky
No. 15 Kentucky was outgained in Norman but won the turnover battle 4-0, and Jordan Castell's 41-yard pick-six closed it out.

No. 15 Kentucky won in Norman without winning the stat sheet. Oklahoma outgained the Wildcats 346 yards to 230, ran more plays on third down and held the ball nearly three minutes longer. It also gave the ball away four times. Kentucky gave it away zero times, and the last of Oklahoma's giveaways turned into the touchdown that ended the game.
Jordan Castell's 41-yard interception return with 1:17 left turned a one-point game into a 21-13 final. Kentucky moved to 6-1. Oklahoma fell to 3-3, a week after beating No. 1 Texas.
How it was won
Kentucky scored first. Kenny Minchey found Willie Rodriguez from 2 yards at 8:36 of the first quarter, and Adam Zouagui added the kick for a 7-0 lead. Tate Sandell answered with a 44-yard field goal at 1:33.
Oklahoma took the lead just before halftime. John Mateer hit Rocky Beers for a 20-yard touchdown with 30 seconds left in the second quarter, and Sandell's kick made it 10-7 at the break.
Sandell added a 26-yard field goal at 6:32 of the third quarter for a 13-7 lead. That was the last time Oklahoma scored.
Minchey and Rodriguez connected again at 12:53 of the fourth, this time from 12 yards, and Zouagui's kick put Kentucky ahead 14-13. Oklahoma had the rest of the quarter to answer and did not. Castell's return settled it.
Minchey was efficient rather than prolific: 21 of 28 for 158 yards and two touchdowns. Rodriguez caught 5 passes for 38 yards and both scores. Nic Anderson led Kentucky with 5 catches for 48 yards. The run game was modest, 72 yards in total, with Jason Patterson carrying 12 times for 38 yards and Mikkel Skinner adding a 16-yard run. Kentucky converted 5 of 12 third downs and had 14 first downs.
Mateer threw for 270 yards on 24 of 40 with one touchdown and three interceptions. Manny Choice caught 5 passes for 98 yards and Isaiah Sategna III caught 8 for 83. Lloyd Avant ran 8 times for 31 yards and Tory Blaylock 7 times for 23. Oklahoma had 19 first downs and went 8 of 17 on third down, but the drives kept ending in field goals or giveaways.
Against the number
Oklahoma closed as a 7-point favorite, and Kentucky won outright, so the Wildcats covered with room to spare. The moneyline had Kentucky at +220 and Oklahoma at -270; the underdog price paid.
The total closed at 44.5. The teams combined for 34 points, a clear under. Neither offense scored more than once in any quarter, and the second half produced just 17 points, seven of them from the defense.

What's next
Kentucky returns home to face Vanderbilt on Saturday, October 24, on SEC Network. The Wildcats have now won three straight, the last two by a combined nine points, including a 35-34 win over No. 10 LSU. Their only loss remains the 45-17 defeat to No. 12 Alabama.
Oklahoma goes on the road the same day to play No. 16 Mississippi State. The Sooners have alternated wins and losses all season, and their three losses have come against Michigan, No. 2 Georgia and now Kentucky. Ten points or fewer in two of those three tells the story: the defense has kept them in games, and the offense has not finished them.
