No. 15 Kentucky and Oklahoma both pulled off two of the biggest wins in college football last weekend. On Saturday night in Norman, one of them will have to give that momentum back.

Kentucky Sports Radio's 11 Personnel podcast on On3 previewed the game with Eddie Radosevich of Sooner Scoop. Host Nick Roush framed the week around one question: which team will be ready after an emotional Saturday? Oklahoma beat No. 1 Texas in the Red River rivalry at the Cotton Bowl. Kentucky beat LSU at Kroger Field, its second straight walk-off win on a two-point conversion in overtime, according to On3's coverage.

The conversation went straight at the Sooners' biggest questions. The first was quarterback John Mateer, who On3 says was in a deep slump earlier this season, and whether he is fully back after the Texas game. Radosevich also covered whether there is real reason for optimism about the Oklahoma offense, especially up front, and what drives the Sooners' defense. They closed by trying to settle how many points either team will need to win.

The Oklahoma offensive line has a hard test coming. On3 also reported that Sooners coach Brent Venables called Kentucky's defensive front, known as the Big Blue Wall, Oklahoma's biggest challenge in the trenches this week. Whether the Sooners can protect Mateer and run the ball against that group may decide the game.

The setting matters too. On3 described the game as Oklahoma's first home SEC night game since 2023, so Owen Field should be loud a week after one of the program's best wins in years. Kentucky is making its third road trip of the season, and its first SEC visit to Norman.

For Kentucky, the stakes are clear. At 5-1, the Wildcats have started turning up in College Football Playoff projections. A road win over a team that just beat the country's top-ranked team would strengthen that case. Kentucky coach Will Stein has spent the week warning his players about an emotional letdown after back-to-back overtime finishes, according to On3.

Oklahoma is 3-2 and needs to show the Texas win was a turning point and not a one-off. Another win over a ranked team would put the Sooners back in the middle of the SEC race after an uneven first half.

The market still leans toward the home team. On Novig, one of the venues pricing the game, Oklahoma is favored at -233. The spread is Oklahoma -6.5 and the total is 43.5. That total points to a low-scoring game, which fits the podcast's question about how many points it will take to win. The best sportsbook price on the Sooners is -250 at BetMGM. Full pricing is on the Kentucky at Oklahoma game page.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. EDT Saturday, Oct. 17, on SEC Network.
